Carlene Cobb, Contributing Editor
Carlene Cobb grew up in south Tampa, inspired by the sea and Florida’s amazing, colorful skies. After winning an award in a short story contest hosted by University of South Florida, College of Arts and Letters, she was encouraged by writing professors and other mentors to write fiction, which she continued to do. Another important goal was to be a self supporting writer, working as a communications director, staff writer, managing editor, and contracted correspondent. Her first nonfiction book was traditionally published by Rosen Publishing Group, NY. Her stories have been published in TIME, Arts Coast Magazine, Tampa Bay Metro Magazine, Tampa Magazine, Tampa Bay’s Best Magazines, St. Petersburg Times, The Tampa Tribune, Florida Health Care News and other print and online publications. Today her first novel is in progress. Her short stories, “Seaside Gardener” and “Cottage 15” appear in this collection, offering a prelude to her debut novel.
