Seeds of the Yew

Harold Bell

Seeds of the Yew revisits the ‘Greenbank Gang,’ a band of young expats first introduced in Under the Yew, and now settled in the northwest of England. After the psychedelic ‘60s, the seismic ‘70s finds the group gaining friends and family, and no lack of challenges threatening the collective sense of belonging and thriving.

From politics to pop-culture, and through revolution and renaissance, the Fab Five continue to guide their clan from under the big yew in Mossley Hill. The author’s passion for history, sport, and the arts has created a warm and richly varied story of friendship and family.

Harold Bell

Author

Harold Bell is a historical fiction writer whose passion for the arts and the outdoors are in the forefront of his work. Music has been a part of his life since the age of ten when he was stopped in his tracks hearing The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand” for the very first time. His love for football (soccer) began in his early adult life, and he played with local leagues in both the Tampa Bay area and Colorado Springs for over 25 years.

Harold grew up as an only child, taking advantage of a father whose career was tied to the construction industry and a mother who supported a life of travel. His first 17 years were spent in a handful of states, as well as the Caribbean, Middle East and South America, never living in one place for more than three years. This immersion into widely varied cultures provided ideas for the subjects of his writings.

Upon retirement, a 30-year dream was realized when Harold completed his first novel, Under the Yew. He lives with his wife of 45 years in St. Petersburg, Florida, along with the best dog ever.
